Chapter 1 of 4: The Beginning
Although it wasn't easy, this quarter didn't seem to take very long. This quarter was really difficult for me. After a lengthy online class, it was difficult for me to switch to and re-adopt this form of learning. I was too shy to speak as I stepped onto our classroom's freshly waxed wooden floor because I've always been a quiet person ever since the pandemic began. I sat in the empty chair on first row and there it was, the first quarter of our school year has begun.
On the first week of the school year, it wasn't easy for me to adjust to the new environment, to my new classmates and to our new lessons. Every day there were quizzes and performance tasks in several subjects. There are times that I am not contented with my scores and performance but I know that's normal and I am just afraid of failure. I was very efficient with my time because some of them required a lot of effort. I made a schedule and allotted time so that the tasks might be finished before the deadline. Despite the distractions, I was able to keep my attention on my goals. I am glad that I have new friends and I didn't expect it.
First quarter's two and a half months were extremely demanding but enjoyable. I never imagined that in the first three months of this school year, I would experience all those challenges as well as joyful times. In order to accomplish well in school, I've learnt to be independent and think creatively. I was able to complete these things and get through this quarter by trying to see the bright side. It's been a tough battle but atleast, at this point of my life, I am still here, trying to face my fears. I promise to do better and strive harder to reach my goals.
